Growing Sativas...do you let 'em go to 20% Amber?

I have been reading alot about different maturation levels of the plants (colors of glands towards the end) and it seems some people think letting a Sativa go to 20% amber kind of ruins the point of a Sativa in that you are going to get that couch lock high off herb that is supposed to product an "up" high. What do some of the seasoned vets say of this?

I am currently growing Sour Diesel which I have read is a 9-10 week flowering plant, even read one report that it could take up to as long as 75 days, however the person I got the cuts from said he found 65 was perfect. Today is 65 and as of last night, I really did not see much amber at all. Curious what you guys think. Most of my glands are real milky, do they switch to amber fairly quickly?

I have cut some off to smoke it, and it's great, so last night I took down a full plant and it's now in my closet...however I will wait to chop the bunch until I start to see more amber. Thanks cannabis.com!

keep checking it very often, sometimes they flick to amber in bunches lol, when you harvest your plants at a certain time, minutes DO matter, so check at least three times a day

I am growing an indica variety, hashberry and it was supposed to mature after 60-65 days, it is at like getting into the 90 days and the trics are still milky and not going amber yet. it's growing in soil. does this slow the maturity rate? been taking cuttings off and ya it's good but I want couch lock....
