    Oppression, persecution?

Looking at the history of the USA there has been some form of major oppression and persecution. From the burning of witches, to the slavery, oppression and persecution of another people right up until the civil rights movement in the 60's. Then on to starting the drug war in the early 70's.

When the drug war finally does dies a horrible death I wonder what will be next on the hit list. Any ideas?

try looking at the history of the world sometime!
seeking scapegoats is part of the human condition. we search for the cause of a problem and tend to choose anyone or anything that is slightly different to blame for our woes.

we're running out of other folks to blame. soon we'll have to lay the blame where it really belongs, with ourselves.

I believe you to be of superior intelligence, put it to work and start solving some of these difficult social problems!

good point. i often think about actual solutions to social problems. the united states is hard though. the political structure of the US would probably not allow for the progressive change simple policies can provide. Like:

Creating a NOJC (New Orleans Job Corps)- setting precedent wages (at least 15/hr) to hire anyone from any state willing to work a position to help rebuild New Orleans. This alone will repopulate the area and put more small businesses back on track with customers. This along with providing housing for these NOJC for something like the first 5 years will allow the workers to save and actually have A LIVING WAGE. Strings can be pulled, compromises can be made, the money is there, but this is NOT happening.
