Using glass as a ceiling
I was wondering if I could use a rectangle piece of glass to limit the hight the plants can reach to avoid getting burned. I'm planning on putting it 2 inches below the bottom of my 30 watt CFLs. I want to do a SCRoG type method and have the wire a few inches below the glass so I can get maximum light efficiency but not burn.
I was wondering if anyone had any advice on my idea.

If I find just a sheet of glass from home depot that doesn't have any film on it or anything, do you think it will still filter out UV rays?
I am messing around with something I call the clone bucket right now. It is basically a 5 gallon bucket clone chamber with a 23w CFL light. It is good because it maintains humidity and it is warm. Also costs under $10 for lights and all.In Soviet Russia, Marijuana grows YOU!

try finding an old sheet of glass, go to garage sales or stores where they recycle house parts from renovation jobs, maybe and older relitive has some older glass without filters.

I'll just ask an employee if they have any glass without UV filters. I could always use 2 squares of chicken wire if I have to. Maybe use 1 layer for the screen, then use 2 stacked on eachother for the ceiling. I just don't want my babies to get burned! (when I do an indoor grow)
Right now I'm germinating 4 unknown bag seeds I got out of a really good bag in my non-cannabis growroom aka my closet. I have a sunflower in a bubbler, some tomatoes, Zannias, and a snapdragon in the other bubbler. I also have a herb garden growing in soil. All are under CFLs. I'll make a diagram of my grow room since it is really messy right nowBut anyways, I'm going to plant them outside soon since last frost was like 2 weeks ago.

Here is my growing center in my closet. It consists of a coat hanging area and smaller clothing hanging area with shelves ontop of it where I store my nutes and germination dome. I don't have my other bubbler pictured but it is under another short clothing rack like the small plants in soil are under.
