    Americans underestimate Iraqi death toll

"When the poll was conducted earlier this month, a little more than 3,100 U.S. troops had been killed fighting in Iraq. The midpoint estimate among those polled was right on target, at about 3,000

Iraqi civilian deaths are estimated at more than 54,000 and could be much higher; some unofficial estimates range into the hundreds of thousands. The U.N. Assistance Mission for Iraq reports more than 34,000 deaths in 2006 alone.

"You have to look at who's doing the killing," said Neal Crawford, a restaurant manager in Suttons Bay, Mich., who guessed that about 10,000 Iraqis had been killed. "If these people are dying because a roadside bomb goes off or if there's an insurgent attack in a marketplace, it's an unfortunate circumstance of war — people die."

Far from a vague statistic, the death toll is painfully real for many Americans. Seventeen percent in the poll know someone who has been killed or wounded in Iraq. And among adults under 35, those closest to the ages of those deployed, 27 percent know someone who has been killed or wounded"

Come on bro, If you had a bro or cousin getting a cap in their ass and dying over in Iraq you wouldn't be like that.. Not that I do..but I just think this war is total bullshit!

You gotta stop the killing and start rolling up the green and being in peace with the world and the brothers you share it with.

lol its always like that with war.. and we will always have war because of curption and country's.. countrys are bs.. you name certain area's of the world certain names, and for what? so certain people can be in comand of these places of the world with names on them and so they can send us out to kill each other to fight over other peices of land.. we're all in the same world.. but some people care to much about theyre country rather then the whole world.. which starts war in the first place.. all that "fight for your country" bs is just a way for them to get us to kill each other so they can command certain parts of the world and tell us what to do. I know alot of people are gonna be pissed off when i say this but having pride in a country is utter bullshit

As the sights probably only republican I have to agree that it is a shame that there are casulties of war but that is what happens in war. (I have quite a few friends and relatives that are there also). It is awful that people die but sometimes thats what happens.

If we've lost a bit over 3,000 it makes me wonder how many of the insurgent/terrorists are pushing daisies? Don't try to find a head count for it though because we don't keep track of those numbers.

    Have a good one!:s4:

P.S. LazySmoking420, in the future please try to keep this stuff in politics.....thanks

its know wonder innocents get killed in war, the us millitary are so incompetant that they seem to spend a lot of time shooting at their allies, not that we english are any better. killing saddam was one big mistake in my oppinion. it solved no problems and gave insurgents a martyr, one who died defying america with dignity in the face of taunting an jeering. did more harm than good and executing your prisoners is barbaric aswell. one of the things held against the saddam led govt' was the executions of its prisoners and was widely condemned, yet america kills its own prisoners at home and the killing of saddam was seen as a good thing by many. bloody minded hypocrits.

you see, it's not just that they're underestimated...it's that they just don't care...i'm speaking of the neo-cons and the others who support a war abroad for our pan american union / homeland security dictatorship here at home...

it's like bombing an entire town because one person committed a murder...well, we got the murderer! mission accomplished...nevermind the thousands of others you've pissed off for killing your relatives who didn't do a damn thing...
