holy shit, after a long day of paintball i got a fever, well we ended up stopping by a party on the way home, i was a noob and the first time i smoked out of a bong, me temp was 103, well at first i got giggly, then i started to have trouble breathing, i thought i was gonna throw up, then everyone turned into a cartoon (no shit it felt completley real), then everything flipped upside down and i thought i was gonna fall, i layed me head under a pillow and like started praying, i then felt like i was pissin and shittin on meself (i wasnt really). i freaked out for like 4 hours. it was horrible, i think it was cuz of the fever. nething that scary happened to neone else?

As for the fear of the death... maybe it can be an obstacle... like... you can feel youre dying while trying to astral project, and maybe it would make you be afraid and break you concentration... but dont give attention to this... you will NOT die while trying astral project, so, if you become afraid, just ignore it. I know its not very easy, but the effort is worth the results.
And good luck!

yah. my fear of death is from my depression/anxiety and i cant go to the doctor because i donthave any health insurance so it'll have to wait. i havent been able to practice the last few days cuz ive been laying down a new floor in my room and i just fall right asleep when i get in the bed. but i do plan on trying tonight. im really gonna concentrate on this and not gonna give up till it happens. what is astral projection exactly? isit ur soul elaving ur body? i heard ur connected by a cord type thing. what if this 'cord' breaks. or what if u get lost in the astral world? any consequences to this?

well... its somewhat like your "soul" or consciousness leave temporarily your physical body. but it doesnt leave entirely. imagine holding a chewing gum with two hands. then you start to stretch it. one piece will be in one hand, another in the another hand and they will be connected by a thin cord of chewing gum. its what happens in the astral projection. one part of our "soul" leaves, and another part stays bound to the physical body (while its alive.) there is no possibility of this cord to break, as it is only a piece of "stretched soul".
the only possibility of this cord break is if someone kill you while youre trying to astral project. but as in this case your soul would leave your body regardless anything, you should not worry about this.
i suggest you do some detailed reading about this before you start trying it seriously. astral projecting is a very serious thing, which can change completly your notions about everything, so you must be completly aware of what are you doing.
my information in this subject comes mainly from the book "journeys out of the body" by Robert Monroe. its a classical book in this subject, i recommend you to read it.
i find an online book about this subject, and im reading right now. its seems good, so i will post the link:
Out of Body Experiences: Keywords: OOBE, Astral Projection
and, again, good luck and tell us if you succeed!

out of body experience/lucid dream
I've had lucid dreams quite often and a few episodes of sleep paralysis, neither had anything to do with smoking, they just happened. The sleep paralysis is scarey but the last time was many years ago. The lucid dreams can be pretty scarey too, the last one I had concerned an intruder coming into my bedroom and I could actually feel him sitting on my bed and leaning over me. I turned round to look at him and woke up thank Heavens. Dreams are OK if they are nice! I hadn't been smoking.

I actually just had a lucid dream about 30 minutes ago while i was taking a nap and it was really incredible...
The way it happened was....I was in a car on the way back to school and when I couldnt find my way back I told myself "Wait I dont recognize any of this....I must be dreaming" and then I concentrated on where I was and tried to keep myself in the world....I didnt get to stay very long though...prolly about 5 minutes
Also its not like once you realize your dreaming you can stay in that mindstate.....I remember seeing an RA from my dorm (after i realized i was dreaming) and he was like stalking me and shit and I was still talking to him about how he shouldnt....its really weird...yet cool!
