age of consent is referring to two people under 18....

cuz if you're even say 15, and a girl is 13, and that happens to be under the age of consent in your state.. YOU can be prosecuted....

I know in texas for example a 18 year old can have sex with a 16 y/o, but it would be lilligal for a 19 y/o to have sex with that same girl. A two year age difference doesn't matter there. It depends state to state.

trust me jagged, i'm the last person to go causing waves, especially with someone i consider cool... but that's not right.. once you're 18, you can get anally raped by the state if you had sex with anyone under 18..

in texas is what i'm talking about too.. i don't know how other states handle situations like this, but i know how my state does.... if you have sexual relations wiht anyone under 18 when you're over 18, you might as well invest in getting a doctor to implant kneepads, cuz you're going to be spending alot of your time on your knees infront of some dude named bubba...

yeah, but as i said above, that applies when both participants are under 18... once you're 18, you're an adult, and it's considered taking advantage of a minor if you have sex with someone under 18...

technically i don't agree with the law... i mean on some points it's good.. but you can (and probably will atleast in my state) be prosecuted if you're partner is 17 1/2 and you're offically 18... i really don't understand how 6 extra months all the sudden could make it legal (other then that is the law written) i mean the quarrel, is 'kids' don't know what they're actually doing... but at 17 1/2.. you're not going to learn awhole lot more by the time you're 18....

You may be right, I'm not positive. I remember reading up on it when I had reason too. And what I read was that most states have laws like a minor can have sex with another minor 3 years younger than him and some one over 18 can have sex with a minor 2 years younger than him.

Depending on the state. If you are seeing people on the news getting charged for that, than I can't argue with you. I only know what I have read, and they laws may have changed. Or the sites could have been wrong.
