Do I have enough Time???

I've been contemplating whether or not to germinate some seeds because I have to be out of my house by the end of June. That leaves me with about 4 months of time to run a cycle. I'm planning on using an ebb and flow system and growing 6-8 plants that are 12"-15" tall in a SOG method. I don't really wanna waste seeds because they're hard to come by but it would be awesome to get some smoke before I move across the country. If anyone has some input on whether or not I can get a nice harvest in that short of time I would appreciate it. Or if anyone has a better idea then mine to get a nice yield in a short period of time plz let me know. This is going to be my first grow. I already know I'm going to go hiking for about 10 days in the Ozarks in 22 days. Which means my plants are only going to be a couple of weeks old. It sucks that I'll be leaving at such an important part of my plants life but I can't stop living just to grow. Do you think that its a lost cause? Either way I may just plant some shittier seeds that I have a surplus of just for the learning aspect.:rasta:

that is pushing it a bit......clones sure you can get them in but from seed that is close. If you are moving then you need to finish them up about 3 weeks before you move out to you have time for packing and moving with out having them in the way.

Why not just try 2 or 3 plants and flower them early enough to give them a couple of months flower time?

Well if I grow 2 or 3 plants it won't take any less time than it would to grow 6-8 plants. I germinated my seeds yesterday. 8 middie seeds and 2 juicy fruit seeds. OH please let the juicy fruit sprout. I realize its pretty retarded to grow 2 different strains expecially since I'm going to scrog them and the juicy fruit is a sativa which will grow tall, but I only had 6 juicy fruit seeds and when I move I need some good strains. I'm thinking I might LST the juicy fruit (if they germinate) before I SCroG but thats beside the point. My system came in the mail yesterday and for $100 bucks I could not be happier. It came with the ebb and flow resivours, volcanic rock media, plastic nets, rockwool cubes, water pump and Dyna Grow nutrient solution. Tell me thats not a good deal. Check it out on Ebay. It was $99 but they lowered the price to $75 in the last week. You also can choose the type of lid you want... I think the options are 4, 5, 6, 8, or 9 holes for the plants to grow out of. I chose the 9 plant system because I'm planning on SCroG. If it works out well I'll be getting another one that will be a 5 plant system for flowering. And their small enough (LxWxH 24x17x13) so I could split my closet in half for both cycles. My lights come on Monday... Yeehaw

I was looking around my basement the other day and found a fan that fits just right into my closet. The cool thing about the fan is it is controlled by a themomiter and blows cold air. And I can't hear it in my room when my closet door is shut. Preeettty sweet. I may start a grow journal on here so I can get some advice but am a little weary of posting pics and what not on this website.

I have question I hope someone can answer. I've been interested in buying some seeds off the internet but I was wondering how safe this is. I would really like to ship them to the place I live now instead of where I'll be moving too(across the country). I don't really wanna have a cop come deliver it to me when I have plants up in my closet. I was considering making an email address just for this reason using a fake name of course and sending the company cash. (one website you can send cash in a birthday card) Also I would use a fake name so if a cop did deliver the seeds to my house I could just say I don't know what your talking about there must be a mistake. Any thoughts on if this would work. Right now I live in one of the best places in the country to get dank chron. Over the next 4 months I will do everything in my ability to get some dank strains. It sucks though cuz the ppl I know who grow don't know that I know they grow, which makes it kinda difficult to ask them for seeds. I am on a quest nonetheless.

About my doing a grow journal... would anybody be interested in seeing a poor college students setup. I know there are ppl just like me who want to grow but feel like they don't have enough money to do so. Right now I've put about $270 into this project and will be buying more things when I get money. ( I work 3 jobs and make about $260 a week, I'm actually working now). That sounds like a lot of money to me but its really not with all the bills, gas, and school I have to f'ing pay all the f'ing time. But whatever I tend to get off subject and for that I am sorry. MY QUESTION IS if I start a grow journal will anyone be interested in reading it??? I will try and take very nice artsy pics (another hobby of mine) to keep things interesting. WORRRD

seeds...Um a cop isnt going to deliver it to u anyway, u wuould get a letter from customs... which ultimatly doesnt mean shit. If u know ppl grow, u might as well say something, whats the point in keeping it secret. Dont post pics with yourself in it, other then that there circumstatial u could have gotten the pics anywhere. If u want to make a journal go for it, i'll tell u now that no one wants to deal with lazy ppl who dont look for answers.

dude go ahead and order some seeds. If you use credit card it is nicely encrypted, unlike a birthday card. also it is faster. Also, the seeds will be (hopefully) mailed stealthily.

If you grow hydro you can do it. I just started my hydro grow and it is much faster than when i was in dirt. you just have to flower early. Make sure you leave at least 2 solid months for flower (you prob want to dry the shit before you leave)

i doubt you'll have time to scrog, since this means more veg time. Just grow some nice little trees.

ps 260 a week for 3 jobs? you're getting hosed chief

pps ask your friends who grow for seeds. the worst they can do is say no.

I know 2 or 3 plants wont take less time. My thinking was that if you have to chop early, it's less of a loss. In any case, I'd adjust veg time rather than flower time.

Definitely do a journal. People read them for sure.

Well...... for starters I'm definitely not getting hosed making 260 a week. I have the easiest jobs in the world, which allow me to spend about 80% of my time learning things on the internet (mainly how to grow).

But whatever. I have germinated my seeds (every single one of them sprouted). I have my closet all set up and ready to go. I used the emergency blankets they sell at walmart for reflective material. I also got my 95watt cfl in the mail. I'm thinking about getting another one, because all I can find at stores around here is 23 watt cfls. Except at Walmart they have 46watt cfls but it doesn't have a kelvin rating anywhere on the bulb or the package. I'm pretty sure its wide spectrum or warm spect which I don't really want. Soooo I may shell out another $60 some bucks to get another 95'er or I might get my HPS earlier than expected and use it with the CFL's in both stages.

Thanks for the feedback about getting seeds. You've made me feel much better about the situation. I think I'll order them in the last month that I'm living here. I'm hoping that I'll be done by then.

I'm gonna start a thread named..... Poor College Student Cultivates in Closet. I probably won't get around to it for a couple of days though. The seedlings are all about an inch tall now and I'm expecting when I go home tonight the roots will be busting out of the 1" rockwool cubes. Then I'll be putting them into the system. Yeehaww.

I've been thinking about getting some stuff called Sweet. It's supposed to be a flavor and aroma enhancer. Just wondering if anyone has had good results with the stuff before I go ahead and throw down $25 for 32oz.
