What's this about freezing them off? tell me more, does it solve the problem? does it dam,age the plants? If I do it say once a week can I hold off till harvest? We have lots of cold here.

crissy, sm's are very susceptable to cold. extremely... if temps are below freezing, you can kill the mites in ten to fifteen mins. i don't think it kills eggs, but it kills larval and adult stages.

doing so on a weekly basis could cause hermies in weak strains... keep this in mind. a hardy strain, esp a cold liking strain (ie nl) could probably take the abuse with no probs.

edit: leaving out for more than fifteen minutes can cause freeze burn to leaves and lengthy exposure will freeze stems and kill the plant. i don't recomend leaving out for more than ten but i've gone as long as fifteen with no probs (except slight classic stress symtoms, ie curl and wilt)

mine are exceptionally hardy. but they were bred for ease of growing... yours may very well be the same. my afghans thrive at 58f day temps... go figure...

If I open the bathroom window and let the cold in I can freeze the fuckers without risking someone seeing me outside. hhhmmmmm

that would take longer than ten minutes... greater chance of failure (bastards will probably just vacate to soil until it warms back up.

you have to shell shock them.
