    well...

well i mean not free... but like some mass program that gives people health care.... like what canada has... any type of help you can get in the states has multiple stipulations to even qualify... and months and months worth the red tape.. and then you can only go to certain hosptials and doctors and shit... and even then your options for treatment are really limited..

Slip, that's not the payoff for Terri's leg, is it? That's not enough. Or was it your own stuff from that night?

Did your attorney give you any hope that if y'all held out longer there'd be a higher offer? There likely will, you know. They always lowball at first. Just wondering whether the atty recommended you take that and run or keep it in play a little longer. Insurance companies have very deep pockets. And frankly they can do a lot better for you two than that.

Healthcare shouldn't be free. Nothing is free in life, but they should change their plans up a bit.

Around here, you pay $40 a month for healthcare. Whether you use it or not, you pay for it, but when something does happen, you aren't paying $2000 a night for the hospital. People here complain about our plan saying, "well why should I have to keep paying it if I don't even use it?" but if something did happen to them, then they had to pay out of their own pocket, or if they get injured and died, then they'd be complaining about that.

To me, it's $40 a month. Big whoopie. Even if you go to the hospital once every few years, IF you did have to go, you'd be good.

When I went in after my injuries I got x-rays done on my face, medicine, and an overnight visit in my own room, and when I left, I didn't pay one cent.

Changes in the States need to be done, but I don't think it should be free. If someone came in with a head wound or something, then yes, you would help them, but people who visit the hospital on a regular basis for whatever reason, should have to pay something.

$100,000 or whatever you said before Slipknot is outrageous. How do they expect anyone to pay that back in this day and age. I don't get it. The US people are getting raped daily, and I feel for the people.

And yes Slipknot, jumping people is the pussiest way of dealing with things. I didn't even know them though, so there was nothing to deal with. Probably too much too drink, one too many lines, and the feeling of having tp prove something. If you want to prove something, lets do it one on one, but I had 3 guys kicking and stomping at me. Not cool.

They didn't knock me out, but if they did, I had a feeling I would have died that night as they weren't slowing down. I just managed to run away, so I consider myself lucky. It wasn't my time to go yet.

nope thats not for my leg...thats for him having to see me get pinned. (i just realized that sounds perverted LOL)
i'm not actually getting anything for my leg. the hospital has dibs on it, and i'll not see a penny.
they were only gonna get a lil bit, then they said they could maybe make them go up another 500, then today we got the call saying 10 thousand. this makes us happy as hell though...cuz this is money the hospital cant probably touch (they may try but eff em!)...and slips gonna use it so i can get some important dental work done.

one of my front teeth got chipped and is kinda triangular shaped (happened when i was about 10 or so), and it has started to get a bad cavity recently. i have to get a root canal and all kindsa other shit done to it...and he's gonna use the money to get that taken care of...and lemme run wild in the mall with a decent amount....AND i'll be able to get the camcorder i've wanted for over a year.

my mom lives out of state and just the other day was able to get herself a VCR. she's only seen our son (her only grandkid) once and it was over a year ago...so i plan on makin her extremely happy by sending her tapes of our son all the time.

this money's gonna help us out a ton...i know at first glance to alot of you it seems like its gonna get wasted...but dont worry...we're taking care of important issues first...

Remember you can counter offer on anything. Give it a try, they gotta give you at least the 10,000. They already said it.

    So, you will have 6,600
Pay all your bills (except the hospital) and anyone that you owe. Do a few things with the money that is forward thinking. Spend some on improving family life (bed). Then go crazy and have some fun. Take it easy...try to save some

OK, just so that wasn't a figure on the leg. They have caps you can usually expect for various body parts, and I knew that was too low for a leg, even if it had repairable damage (a severed leg has a higher value than a repairable leg, just one of the bottom-line realities of personal injury insurance and law). If that's for the trauma of his seeing that, then, I'm glad the attorney said it probably wouldn't get much higher and glad y'all are taking that amount and moving forward. I know you can use the money now and willl use it for necessities like the dental work. I know it'll come in very handy, sweetie. Glad you're getting a cam, too! L and K from me, your other mom/sistah!

pretty much. every now and then i do somethin weird, i guess i'm overextending my leg? where my knee goes in too far when my leg is locked...and it hurts, or if i sit on the edge of something, it puts pressure on the spot where the break was....it was a little above mid-thigh on my right leg...bone clean in half. and i run like a 'tard now lol...had to compensate so i can still do certain things though.

i keep trying to take pix of my scars but they dont turn out good. to bright. i'll keep at it. i just wish we'd had a camera when it first happened...if for no other reason than legal issues. my leg was purple and red and prolly black (dont member if it was for sure or not) and swollen all big and had stitches and over 5 staples (most of which were in the kneecap)

but yeah..i can walk and do normal stuff i just can't over-do it...i'm glad it was me and not someones kid that got hit...and i'm really glad it wasn't slip that got mashed...i couldn't have handled seeing that...and i'm glad it wasn't a truck or i'd prolly not be around anymore...

nah, that's just myc laim, she has one then i have one too.. but unfortunately... she'll never see money in hand.. even more so.. her claim isn't even going to cover her medical bills

there won't be any higher offer either... the lawyers have been holding out forever now to get more money outta the company, and they made some special demand, and the insurance people finally caved in and gave me something the lawyers feel is fair (how much is psychological damage worth anywyas? and even more so.. as i said before, they have a 20k max payout limit because of the type of insurance that bitch had... so i'm getting half of their absolute max pay out.)
