Shakespeare
Does anybody here like/enjoy/read any of Shakespeare's works?
I once read The Complete Works Of Shakespeare.. including all 150 (or so) Sonnets lol. For anyone that cares , this is one of my favourites...
Who will believe my verse in time to come,
If it were fill'd with your most high deserts?
Though yet, heaven knows, it is but as a tomb
Which hides your life and shows not half your parts.
If I could write the beauty of your eyes
And in fresh numbers number all your graces,
The age to come would say, 'This poet lies;
Such heavenly touches ne'er touch'd earthly faces'.
So should my papers, yellow'd with their age,
Be scorn'd, like old men of less truth than tongue,
And your true rights be term'd a poet's rage
And stretched metre of an antique song:
But were some child of yours alive that time,
You should live twice, - in it and in my rime.

It is my belief that classic literature is classic for a reason. The reason Shakespeare is still loved and performed today is a testament to the quality of his writing. The same goes for any other great writer, Tolstoy, Hemingway, Twain, and all the others...

Shakespeare
Go, gentlemen, every man unto his charge:
Let not our babbling dreams affright our souls;
Conscience is but a word that cowards use,
Devised at first to keep the strong in awe;
Our strong arms be our conscience, swords our law.
or,
Get on yer horse and use your sword - don't be scared

there's proof mounting that shakespeare was a fraud. the fact that he couldn't manage to stay consistant with the spelling of his own name tells me he's a twat with his priorities in the wrong places! i don't like any of shakespeare's work. any of it.
