The day before Mardi Gras. Lundi means "Fat Monday" in French, or the day before Fat Tuesday (Mardi Gras.) It is when most of the big parties start around here. There is one parade in Metairie tonight, Zues, I believe. I'm not going though, it isn't worth an hour + drive, but tomorrow it is a day full of parades. Tomorrow will be a full day of parades and booze though.

Never been down there but I hear Mardi Gras is one hell of a party.

Hey, how are the cops during the party? Do they take it easy on people or do they beef up the security and ride people hard?

Ride people hard. If they catch you lighting up, you will be hauled off to jail. If you show your genitals, you will also get arrested.

There are always a bunch of arrests for fighting. Granted the security is much tighter on Bourbon St. If your at a normal parade there are still a lot of cops, but not like on Bourbon. There are a lot in street clothes too.
