PB, you need to post this in the Girl Rules thread. It should totally be tattooed on the palms of the hands of dating aged females. Then everytime we're about to make a bad dating decision, we can look at our rule on our hands, "Fuck him and his weirdness." and we will think twice before we get mixed up with unsuitable people.

First off, you should realize that you have posted a thread talking about everything you hate about this guy.

Do you honestly think that you will have a future when you already see so many things you don't like?

But what would do it right off the bat for me is the kid.

Plus if he HATES mary, and you like toking it up...well... I'd break up right then.

And secondly, he DOES have many admirable qualities, but the bad outweigh the good. I was teetering on a decision, and was asking for advice. Please don't mistake my posts for general rantings...

I'm 19, and I've been single now for about 4 years. Nothing big. Sure, I get lonely sometimes, but it's fine.

A few days ago, I met this guy who is also 19 through a friend who works with him. He's got hippie-like hair (I love long hair), he's INTELLIGENT, he makes a lot of money, and he's kind.

I don't want to seem too picky, but he compliments me WAY too much. And he's clingy as hell. When I get online, he IMs me within 2 seconds of signing on, and won't stop pestering me if I'm busy, or tired. He has a generally annoying personality when he talks to me, like an over-excited puppy. I feel very uncomfortable around him, but I don't want to be picky, nor have lax standards either. He doesn't like cannabis. Scratch that- he HATES cannabis. I am not addicted to cannabis, but I'd prefer to have someone who shares a toke or two with me.

All he does is read philosophy and older stuff like that. He's too formal a lot of the times, and 'chastises' me if I type gramatically incorrect online. And he uses those stupid AIM smilies WAY too much. As intelligent as I am, I really like pop culture. I read US Weekly, and watch E! from time to time, but I am not obsessed with celebrities.

He also has a child from another relationship. Lost all contact with the mother and the child, which is kind of odd.

So what do you guys think? Should I stay and hope for him to change, or just stop before it gets even weirder?

I think it sounds like a terrible match. Look at all those damned complaints you got there....thats not a good match at all! Those little annoying things will just get more annoying.

..and he hates cannabis?
