that warning is based on empirical data and extensive scientific study. the research is documented and the experimentation has been duplicated yielding similar results. this isn't to say we might not have been lied to, but the hard data does exist.

on the other hand....

global warming is based on a theoretical model and extrapolations grounded in a limited understanding of long term global weather patterns. since no reliable data exists covering the causes for weather change over a significant period of time, all results must be considered inconclusive. this isn't to say there might not be some truth to the theory, but it cannot be considered to be proven fact.

do you understand the difference? empirical data vs. theoretical modeling. despite the hype and political warfare surrounding the theory it is still nothing more than that, a theory. though reducing mankind's footprint on the environment is prudent, using the scare tactic of a global warming emergency to force radical immediate change is nothing more than political posing and irresponsible manipulation. those who choose to blindly follow the leaders of this campaign may have the best of intentions, but that is no excuse for yielding to this politically incited hysteria.

Public records reveal that as Gore lectures Americans on excessive consumption, he and his wife Tipper live in two properties: a 10,000-square-foot, 20-room, eight-bathroom home in Nashville, and a 4,000-square-foot home in Arlington, Va. (He also has a third home in Carthage, Tenn.) For someone rallying the planet to pursue a path of extreme personal sacrifice, Gore requires little from himself. Then there is the Rating: 5
