It's not all about how much power you can make.

The car i built was a street car. It passed inspection. I made 343whp out of a 2.0l turbo motor. It was such a blast to drive. 343whp in a 2300lb car with a "road course" type suspension is quite fun.

No, it wasn't the fastest thing around, but i can tell you i had a shitload of fun with it, which is all that really matters. If you try to be the fastest car around, you will lose. There's always someone faster.

that's why you tune your car more and more.... eventually you have to be the fastest...

btw i only talk about street legal cars.. if you can't take it out on the streets, what's the point?? someon can strap a jet engine on their car in a 'real drag race' with street legality, you have a certain specification you have to pass... you ain't never gonna say a 69 chevelle crusing down the road with an f-16 jet engine sticking out the ass end...

like i said, imports can only beat muscle in handling and weight.... otherwise... you're going to be seeing nothing but smoke... and maybe a dimly shinning couple of red tail lights.

i should also take the time to mention i'm not for power... a race is how fast you are... so speed is my goal... fuck power, a 900 HP set up, that is set up wrong, can still be beat by the average tuned import... it's how you use the power available to you.. power doesn't mean everything...

LOL, you're not listening to what i posted.

I built the car to be fun, not to beat muscle cars or beat import cars. I could really care less about what other people build and why they build them. I built the car to be fun, which it was. So mission accomplished.

Basically what i'm saying is, when i went to the drag strip, you could put me next to a 9 second car, and they'd finish the 1/4 miles first.

That's cool. But that's not what i'm about. I could care less what the other person ran.

I raced for my times. I tried to get the car to it's potential. I turned a 90MPH trapping car into a 119MPH trapping car. I didn't turn a 200sx into a "i can beat cobra or vette" car.

well what's the point then? ok so i guess i get what you're saying.. but i've always been that 'car guy' that has to have the fastest thing around... o.0 i guess now i just assume every guy is like me? i dunno... if you had fun working on the car then that's all that matters... i even had fun working on my little pos 80's model oldsmobile 4 cylinder station wagon we just ended up selling a bit back... working on cars is fun to me... it could actually be a hobby (i've been building model cars since i was like 7..)

Other than my race car, what i really meant by "projects" are cars that i make money on.

I'll buy cars that are hit and either fix them and sell them, or sell off parts till it's a shell, and i sent it to the crusher.

Sometimes i'll buy a car that i know is worth like $1,000 more, buy it and flip it the next week for a profit.

Honestly, i make probably $2,000-$5,000 a year doing this pretty much on the weekends. It's not bad, and you learn alot about cars by ripping them apart.
