Package Delivery on President's Day (Tomorrow)?

i got my comp in the mail, it was supposed to be here friday, but a FUCKING TRAIN DERAILED... (wtf???) and it got delayed... my wife called up there, and they told her monday is a holiday, but that they're still going to be delivering packages... but they also told her they knew nothing about a train and that my package should have been here 2 days ago now (like it was planned to be)

this is ups btw..

so, according to them, they should still be delivering packages... but also according to them i shoulda been on my new comp, and not this POS... so take it with a grain of salt.

Funny you must be near me, I have the same thing happening to me right now...

i think he did something like spy on the opposition or something... as for popular vote, i believe its whether or not the public agrees with your campaign and its policies... correct me if im wrong on either of those.

dave - that would be hillary clinton... lol... personally.. either way i think we win... we're either gettin a woman or a black dude... so far (as said in a comedy but i'm twisting the end point) white men have been screwing up this country since the begining... i think it's time for a change (the comedy says white men have been screwing up this country since the begining of it, why change it now?)

nope a president can only serve 2 terms (there was one president a long time ago that did either 3 or 4, but after him, it became a law that a president can only serve 2 terms (2 years at 4 years each)... so in 2008, no matter what, we're rid of him.. he can't run again.... lol tho, this should get intresting, cuz we have a woman (hillary clinton) and a muslum (black) dude (something -obama) .. i'm sure there'll be a third.. but i can't wait to see who wins... now it's like american idol, instead of presidency... there's a damn good chance we're about to see a presidency first..


oh yeah, the voting thing you know of.. isn't really as powerful as everyone makes it out to be.. that's called the popularity vote..a nd technically.. it doesn't make a fuck what those votes say... someone who loses in those votes, can still win presidency.. i'm not sure exactly how.. cuz i haven't paid that much attention.. but i know what i'm saying.. i even think bush lost the popularity vote one of his terms... and as you can see there he is.

Popular vote is simply all the votes counted out.

Electoral vote is basically "points" assigned to each state. The larger the state, the larger the "points". Win the popular vote IN THE STATE, win the points.

They go by the electoral vote. So let's say for instance,

Joe was running against Tom. Joe wins MA by 1,000,000 votes.

Tom wins TX by 1 vote.

Joe is winning the popular vote, but Tom is winning the electoral vote (which is what really matters).

So therefore, a president can be voted into office when less than half the population voted for someone else.

what was nixon like?

he was the last truly presidential president we had. though i didn't agree with many of his policies, at least he didn't need handlers to tell him how to think. he was an everyman, very little charisma, who gave the impression of a man with a job to do. if it wasn't for the paranoia of the times which led to the watergate fiasco and his leaving office in disgrace this would be a very different country. since then all of our presidents have been either buffoons or popularity contest winners. now it seems we would rather have a fool with charisma than a man with a workable plan.

but that's just my opinion.
