Depression
People come to a path in their lives when they feel " Im not in control of my life" or "My destiny is planned" "whats the point in living we all die"
its easy to think like that, but thats more OVERTHINKING then being depressed, u analyse lifes up and downs to much when really all u gotta do is smile thru the shit look forward to tommorow and laught back at things that caused u pain.
u can easily look on the downside to EVERYTHING but why would u?
THINK POSITIVE ACHIEVE POSITIVE

thanx for the words of wisdom rob, and everyone else, i'm told i overthink alot, which is why i've been trying to keep my mind occupied with stuff... like games and movies, playing guitar (although that doesnt necesarily (sp?) help, mostly sad songs i play lol, but it gives my mind something to concentrate on anyways)
can i get any of the medication above without prescription?

Depression
I think Robert42's first post summed up any advice I might give. Exercise and a healthy diet. Particularly one focusing on anti-oxidents and natural ssri's, such as st. john's wort, will do wonders for depression without resorting to pharmaceutical side-effects.
Setting any project for yourself, whether its exercise or meditation, and just resorting to that when you're bored or depressed, in addition to regular practice, is a solid step.
I'd personally advise against chicken soup for the soul. As I find those books depressing as hell. To each their own though...

reassess your habits... are you feeling down about procrastinating? lack of motivation? social problems? try to address these; sometimes a small situation can make you feel really crappy on the inside.
stress from school eats me alive... but these things have helped me.
if that doesn't work you might want to see a good counselor or psychiatrist. be careful about the drugs, though - the side effects are often unpleasant, and they don't make the pain go away... they just dull it.
