wicker planters

i was thinkin about using wicker planters liek this that i learned about in my last thread .. SH Hydroponics > Outdoor Self Watering Wick Planter

and i was wondering what kind of liquid fertilizers i could use and if using this set up could heighten the plants chances of dying if not closly watched

any input would be great especially if u use these things!

would probably just use water only, as fertilizer added to the reservoir could increase the chances of something going wrong, would just mix your fertilizers in with your soil.
while it could possibly be used as a wick hydro setup, wouldnt attempt it without regular reservoir changes and ph/tds meters.
