Vapordaddy is right, teaching is what most do. I have degrees in both English and Philosophy, and teaching classes in those subjects is a lot of fun, AND a lot of work! Many papers to read! You need to enjoy teaching, not just the subject.
But you could also do something else part-time to pay the bills and then read and write about philosophy to your heart's content.
You could even pursue a full-time career elsewhere and be a philosopher part-time, that's cool too.
