Friend has some problems with mites, I don't...he came over and went in the room....?
Yeah my friend came over, I am about a week from the cut date, haven't found a single pest in my room the entire grow. My buddy bombs frequently but has had some problems with spider mites. I am a bit concerned about him coming into my grow room last night. He said he wasn't training the plants or anything that day, or even touching them....do I have reason to be concerned? I have a Pest Strip I'm going to throw in the room just in case, but obviously it's way too late to bomb.

Pest strips are awsome and do really work. However, I don't think I would use them within a week before harvest, or even at all if some good buds have started to show up. The active chemical is extremely toxic, and can make you have 4 elbows growing out of your buttocks. I don't think I would want to take a chance on smoking it, but who knows, maybe it will give you super powers or something.
You do have reason for concern. I would not let someone into my grow room if they are wearing the same clothes and did not shower since they last visited their grow room that has tendencies of mite problems. All it takes is one male and one female to screw up your life good.
However, if you have not seen any signs of mites, then you have know reason to worry, and you should get that pest strip out of there immediatly if not sooner.

well i dont belive the pest strips emit fumes the plants take in i could be wrong, unless they are directly touching the plants, i would be weary of people going into the room who may be contaminated...

Yeah, I was kind of under the same impression as Jackd. Have read about lots of people on this forum leaving pest strips in their room the entire cycle through. Can anyone confirm or deny this though? I don't want to throw it in there without being sure. On the other hand though, I want to throw it in there ASAP considering I had him in the room last night.
Hopefully he didn't have any on his clothes, gotta be a bit more careful of this in the future especially a week from harvest. At least I can bomb the shit out of the room in a week and get rid of those fucks if they do show up.

I keep a Hot Shot no-pest strip hanging in both veg and bloom rooms constantly, and change 'em regularly. Haven't seen any detrimental effects at all. Well, except no bugs.. I guess thats detrimental to them

Tokudai... you are music to my ears friend! I haven't run into a single bug yet, almost done with my first run - hope to keep it that way! Gonna pop it in there tonight, I have the same brand - Hot Shot. Best of luck!

dude 1 week...nothing is going to happen. thats not nearly enough time for mites to even be noticed, let alone do any damage.
