Washington, Feb 17: Britney Spears apparently decided to get a little professional help to get her life back on track. Unfortunately for the singer, her stint in rehab lasted even less than her first marriage.

Spears checked herself into Eric Clapton`s Crossroads Centre in Antigua, but a source revealed that she left abruptly after just 24 hours at the facility. She then headed to Florida.

On Tuesday, Feb 13, Spearsâ?? former personal assistant, Felicia Culotta, wrote in a letter to Hollywood.com`s That Other Blog that Spears` kith and kin were not having much luck trying to persuade her to get help.

"There`s just so much you can do to help a person. I cannot convince her in ANY way to love herself. ... I cannot save her from herself, nor can I commit her to any type of treatment program against her wishes and will. I am throwing my hands up and realizing that I am helpless over another," People quoted Culotta, as writing in the blog.

The â??Toxicâ?? singer has been in the news for her wild partying and boozing ever since she split from hubby Kevin Federline in November last year.

The couple are now engaged in a custody battle over their two young sons â?? Sean Preston and Jayden James.

Britneyâ??s wild behaviour has not only seen her popularity plummet, but also caused her biggest fan website to close.
