<<The sound is really going to come from your duct work and how many bends you have and whether your using insulation or not.>>

He hit the nail right on the head, most of these fans are built to be pretty quiet. I run a Vortex with a speed controller, don't have too much of a noise issue. If you do you can try various different things, like Racer said try using insulated ducting, or simply use *more* ducting to absorb the noise. Also hanging blankets in your grow room on the walls will greatly reduce the noise as blankets absorb a shit load of noise. Best of luck!
razzapiggy Reviewed by razzapiggy on . Vortex or Elicent? Hey, i am undecided on whether i want the 6" Vortex or Elicent. I've heard good things about both of them.. Do the Elicents have a speed controller built in when you buy them? cause i know that with the Vortex fans you need to buy one seperately. Any experiences with either brand that you'd like to share would be helpful, i know there has been other posts about fans but i dont usually drop $200 for a fan so i just wanna make sure i get the best bang 4 my buck.
