My Growroom pics. and questions for my grow

Hey guys, im almost done getting all of my supplies to start my first indoor grow. I have a few worries thought and wanted to show you the space I have to work with and get your thoughts. Itâ??s a cedar walk-in closet. Im only growing in an area of 3ft x 3ft inside so I have plenty of room. There was a mold problem in here but its dried up since. Thats my worry though....will mold be a problem? If u look at my pictures, theres a photo of the wall with little holes in it. Thats the spot that im putting a 4inch hole in to do my ventilation...so there will be free flowing fresh air inside....will that be enough to keep mold away? Anyway my light is a 250watt hps and donâ??t worry, the way its hung in the picture isnt the way it will stay lol. So please give me all the input and tips you can.

Ps...any1 use â??ductstatâ?ť with their venting system to control general temperature? It work well?

Well, you might be gaining a bit of fresh cold air by not having a glass under your hood, but you are sending 'dirty' air out without being filtered. The glass is there to keep the heat inside the shade and the tubing is there to replace that air and remove the hot air generated by your bulb(s). The air going thru, is clean air and is never in touch with any that smells like bud. That glass pane is imperative if you don't want to smell up the neighborhood.

You will need more ventilation in your space, in fact I'd forget about the vented hood, seeing you're only using 250W, and concentrate more on ventilation and odor control. I would suggest a 6" inline fan for exhaust, which should be placed as high near the ceiling as possible. It should be FILTERED hot air leaving your grow area. Then you should have a passive intake about twice as large, say 12". This fresh air inlet should be near the ground. So now you have cool air coming into your room, gets 'smelled' up by your plants, and gets heated up by your lamp. So then the smelly hot air gets filtered, and only the clean hot/warm exits.

i know. dam. that hole is all i can work with though. but im in a basement so that hole thats by the ceiling is actually from the ground outside so it will be cool air. also whats bad about filtering the air out to my basement? what would you do in my situation if you only had one 4" hole coming into the growroom? can i do any better than i allready am? thnx for the help btw

In that case I think your best bet is to use the hole to the outside as your exhaust, and draw the fresh air out of the basement, maybe a grill in the door? In any case, the air leaving your grow room should be 'sanitized' or filtered before sending it outside to your neighbors. Do a search under Charcoal Filters right here on this forum.

First part of your worries should be the mold me I would cut out the infected area and replace with a new board. If you can not do that then I would try to kill it with bleach mix with hot water or a find something that kills mold. Next is ventilation you already have a 4 inch hole planed out now you need to find some intake holes they only need to be 2inchs only and a small fan oscilating fan to move the air around. With the 250hps that i see you have with the aluminum reflector you have I have the same reflector but I use a 400w hps with it and its in a hydro hut with the same 3'x3' space. I use a 180 cfm eco plus blower with 200 cfm carbon scrubber and my temps stay around 76 - 78 degrees with lights on with a 5 degree drop with lights off. And I can keep my 400watter 12 inchs from the tops of my plants without burning them the key is to place your oscillating fans blowing between the lamp and the tops of the plants. To check to see if they are alright just place your hand over the tops of the plants for a minute if you can stand it they can stand it if not just adjust the height of the light. I would use the 4 inch hole for my exaut and then I would drill 2icnh holes in the floor for intake then I would place my oscillating fan on the wall. Dont forget to paint the walls flat white. then hang my light and find a stop outside the grow space so you wont have any excess heat from it. that all I can come up with right this blunt got me when I come down from my high Ill check back for any more qeustion.:rastasmoke: :rasta:
