I wonder how many of these threads have been nuked? These are BobBong's favorite. I can understand why they do get bombed though.

Bob's good about deleting the popularity threads that periodically show up. We all do that. But this one raised the topic of cliques and then has consistently done a good job of shying away from that direction and instead encouraging the anti-clique mentality. Some of us have spoken about members we may know better than others, but I don't see this as popularity-motivated or delete- or close-worthy on its current trajectory. If that changes, or another more eager-to-delete mod comes along later, it may go down. But it doesn't seem to merit closure or deletion right now. Just my thoughts, and I gather Skink and Plant must agree because they've not closed it, either.

I kind of figured the same. I am not complaining and I dont hate these threads it is just that they are very exclusionary (is that a word) and some people could get their feeling hurt if they aren't included on someone's "list" of friends.

On a side note, it was cool that birdgirl and nochowder include me as their friends. See how that works? LOL

:jointsmile: High there boys and girls- wow, haven't checked in for a few days and I missed EVERYONE. Birdgirl is a fabulous woman, but I am sure she has scores of friends, though I am lucky to be a new one. If I were to name all of the sweethearts I have become acquainted with over the past 4 months, the list would be longer than my garden inventory! And like someone accepting an award, there would no doubt be many left off by mistake.

But cliques?To me it seems it is actually a bit harder for real "cliques" as we know them to gain a foothold here since we all mix and merge and talk together about such a wide variety of interesting topics- one minute you could be hanging in the grower's forums talking nutes, the next minute, visiting the politics section, discussing nukes. It's lovely how we can hook up with so many different people to share so many different facets of ourselves, whereas in life we tend to be thrown into more specialized groups- the work group, the class group, and within those groups, cliques certainly can form. In high scholl I was in the "brainy freak clique, drugs and debate was our specialty! But here, all you have to do is say
"see you later" to one set of buddies, and mosey on over to another.

Others said it before me- the bond we all share is an appreciation of the benefits of cannabis, so because of that, we are ALL COOL.:thumbsup:

You are my friend too dearstinky!! I am so looking forward to next Friday - I sure hope we don't have another storm or I might have to camp out in Woosterland. Did you get blanketed? On Wednesday, the college was "open" and classes were being held,according to the website and main phone #, and I had to meet a student at 2, so I head out into the worst damn mess, drove for 1 1/2 hours, gripping the wheel so tightly, and staying sane by listening to Talking Heads (I always listen to them during stormy drives!)
and when I got to the school, they were closing for the rest of the day! I ranted for awhile with my boss, felt a little better, then turned around and skidded for another 1 1/2 hours home. Yikes! I can only imagine it must have been worse out your way.
I'm moving the girls today, they are getting too close for the light, so I will post pics on Chrissy's thread later.
