What is it we can do about this? How do we as the public people speak to those in charge? Answer me that, and I'll be glad to help. When it comes to world problems, I seriously don't know what to do, but I know ranting and raving about it only gets people angry, so we need to find a way to get our voices heard.

Writing letters, sending e-mails, what?
Well, crude oil is basically fossilized plant matter i think (im only unsure about the fossilized part, if not then its at least REALLY REALLY OLD plant matter)

so yeah earth produces plenty of oil, over a few million years.

But think about this. The invention of combustion engines only dates back to around 1875-1900. So in less than 150 years we have used or are using most of the available oil reserves on our planet, i don't think people are gonna wait another 40 million years for those reserves to fill themselves up again
