What "they" don't want you to know....

I just saw an interesting bit on Daily Planet a little while ago. There is a company in Germany i believe making electric cars, powered only by electricity and no gasoline at all. They can go up to 85km per/hr, and a total distance of 90-120km. That is just running the electricity all the time, but there are pedals, like on a bicycle, that you can use to help aid the batteries, and if you are going downhill, you can turn the power right off, use the pedals to power it. Not only will that conserve power, but by using just the pedals, you actually put more power back into the vehicle.

It is about 3/4 the size of a sprts car, and has only 3 wheels. I find it would be easy to overturn if you took a corner too fast, but it is good to see some people are taking steps in using less gasoline. It was called the Trickel, and cost about $26,000. Not a bad price I don't think. Obviously not made for long travel, but to the people who use cars for city travel, it would be perfect. It would save you money on gasoline, and you'd be helping the environment.

I think if everyone would just do their part, we may actually save this earth, but no one seems to care until the damage is done. If we all just cut back on water, traveling and all that jazz, we may have a chance.

If I remeber right, current photovalatiac cells are highley inefficiant ( I think some where in the 10%-20% efficiancy) and it would take too many panels to truly fesiably power a city, takes up too much surface area, but we are working on increasing efficiancy

Bio-Desiel is very important too anything that is real and can challenge oil is good. But as Brazil has proven E85 can be done very well. Its real, its here and its just about got its teeth sunk in. The oil companies are trying to make move without breaking the law(Price Fixing and other illegal activities) they are buying E85 production facilities but they are being watched too. I think by ten years form now 1 E85 be be at every station just like Desiel is now and then its game over for the most part. There will never be the midlle east led price fixing, they'll have to battle and farmers will find massive scale to reduce prices to below oil and so on and so on, it'll be beautiful at this point I'm 95% sure it will happen as E85 has its foot in the doorway and in Brazil it went like clockwork and grew every single year till it was their dominant fuel.

Check here to find a station near you just as proof of how its out there.

there are two pumps with in 10 minutes of me right now and if I make an effort when I was in the area then there'd be even less impact from the location since I drive that way all the time. The next truck I get will HAVE to be FLEX FUEL( GAS + E85) or I won't buy it.

I've actually written a research report on this exact subject for my English 101 class...ethanol is a joke...got an A+ on the paper too...wish i still had it so i could refer back to it in this thread but yeah ethanol is soo not the savior to our oil dependency.
