what, the 1 inch cubes. you would prbably break all the roots trying to remove the cube. so yes, leave em in the cubes.

I would not recommend trying to take an established plant from hydro to soil.
Instead, take clones in rapidrooters and do those in dirt from the get-go.
I've had a couple disasters with rockwool rotting a ring around the stem of a dirt-mother that had been cloned in RW... it resulted in the loss of 2 valuable strains... never again.

Hi Stinky - glad to see you are still hanging 'round the forums!

Over what time period did that rockwool rot take place? I've seen you mention that rot problem before - all the Mangos that you've seen in my hut were cloned with an aerocloner with rockwool cubes and I planted them in soil. I've been keeping an eye on them because of your experience and they don't show any ill effects so Im wondering how old your mothers were when they went south on you?

you can place a rockwool cube in soil, you can use rockwool for starting cuttings and seeds and transplant directly to soil or hydro set up. you can run into problems in both soil and hydro if the rockwool remains to wet.

    Hi Doco!
The rot didn't really get going until they had been in soil for about a year.
Your hut looks really clean anyway; far more so than my cellar was at that time, lol!!!!
I think that in the future if I ever get plants that were cloned in rockwool, I'm going to do the following:
-chip off as much of the rockwool as possible without harming roots
-re-seat the plant so the rockwool block is almost completely sitting on TOP of the soil layer and can dry out between waterings
-take fresh clones and get them going as pure dirt mothers.

right i have a nice very healthy female white widow cutting i have not the proper lights but have lamps and red reflective i have just got the best i was told soil, IE: biobizz all mix soil but i don't want to lose this. so how do i take the cutting from the cube of rock wool as there is a big surrounding one about 3" square and the one with the cutting attached to around 1"inc square is this the one i put in the soil and how deep do i put it thanks for reading please be in touch [email protected] or [email protected]
