I know the OTC stuff modeled after revolution from the pet stores doesn't have the same level of ingredients that the Rx stuff does from the vet and is less effective. But it's definitely cheaper. (Revolution is pricey as heck.)

As far as how much stock to put in a OTC product you get at the pet store, you could call the SPCA, a shelter, or even a vet's office and explain your moneyless state and ask them some questions about whether that stuff they sell in the pet stores is even worth buying. They have vet techs on staff at those places who know these answers and would also know how to tell you to treat the dog's skin condition with that medicine you already bought. If you're persuasive and persistent and ask in the right way, I expect those folks would be glad to help provide educated answers.

be careful, you can catch that shit too...

my dog got mange once, then i got it as well... then there was a time while in juvi that an entire unit somehow got it... 144 people in close proximity, with that stuff didn't end very quickly...

if your dog sleeps with you in your bed, you need to wash every bit of the bedding shit (not sure if it has to be hot water or not)...

When my cat Swirly got out he came back scratching so I looked in to frontline... Wal * Mart at the time had Hartz... I called my sister in-law "CatPerson" and she said what ever you do DON'T use Hartz... I looked it up and sure enough there were dogs and catz with a host of problems from it seizures to death... I ended up using frontline and messed up,,,Buddy got his tongue in it and started foaming at the mouth,,,scared the crap outta me... I still got the rest of the frontline in the med cabinet,,,never used it again... all this stuff is like a systemic it gets into the skin and spreads through out... that is why you need to be extremely careful!!!
