Creating a grow plan. Clones and Yields.
I have raised two crops so far from seed-harvest prior to this. I am fixing to harvest my 3rd crop. I also have some females I have JUST started 12/12. I have 2-400w HPS and some weak flos for seedlings/clones. I do not like having multiple plants per pot. After a few transplants, I realize this is not what I want to do. I don't mind chopping males though, but I hate when I have 2 females in one pot.
I have alot of good quality seeds. Mostly sativas, occasional NL style cola plants. I definately want to clone the high yeilders.
Well I have created a grow plan for the next few months. However, I have been thinking a little bit lately. I have some rooting compound. I'd like to clone (i can get as many as i want). I will be cloning in soil, with appropriate temps/humidity/sprays. I will only be cloning females. No 'wait and see' males.
I have a few questions. I have read plenty and am not clueless, but I am just wondering what everyone has to say.
Is 15 days enough to root and veg before 12/12? Then 12/12 for 8weeks? How much can I expect to yeild? Would a 15 vegday clone yield more than a plant from seed that was vegged 30 days? Sizes? Vigor? Root system size? Can a clone go in a small pot, say 8"/1gal without issues? I have different soil types to root clones in. Should I root them in a sticky thick soil or a quick-drying planting/potting mix? How about a topsoil?ValkyrieAg Reviewed by ValkyrieAg on . Creating a grow plan. Clones and Yields. would allow about 2 weeks for the clone to root with enough practice you can probably cut that time down a little but figure anywhere from 7 -14 days.
once rooted you can place in flower immediatly if you want a bunch of smaller plants like if your were doing a sog, or you could veg for 2-3 weeks or more just depends on how large you want the plant to get before flowering.
after rooting would expect a clone veg for 2 weeks to atleast yield as much as a seedling that was veg for 30 days.
1 gallon is a little small even for a sog would try to use larger pots such as 1/1/2 gallon for a sog or 3 gallon or more for larger plants, so they can finish flowering without getting rootbound.

a pot that is 8" across the top is a gallon right? Or is that a two gal pot? I have many sizes, smallest 8".
