i've only ever seen one live shootout... this guy had a woman and her baby in the car with him, when the cops tried to pull him over for whatever and he took off... it was a long ass chase.. like over an hour, at the end, he smashed into the back of a pick up and the woman went flying out of the car, the car kinda drifted off the raod from there, and he fired a couple of shots at the cops (the baby was still in the car at this time mind you) and next thing you know you got like 10 guns going off and turning the car into swiss cheese... the woman and baby were pretty much unharmed (i'm sure flying out of the car going 80 or so and landing on the cement did something to her) and as the coverage on the news kept going, the cops put a white sheet over the car... he died in that car.

then there was this one low speed pursuit (sometimes he'd get the car up to 100+ but for the most part he was going like 30... down the freeway with a whole string of cop cars behind him... at this time the cops had a no pit policy, so all they could do was follow him.. and he knew it too) he'd get out and do the ghost riding antics you see... standing up on the car, hanging out the window throwing up signs, even jumping out of the car while it's still moving and dancing along side it.. i'm pretty sure eventualy he pulled into a parking lot and tried to run but got no farther then 30 feet before he was on the ground.

then there was another one (my favorite one..) where this guy was in a stolen car, he takes cops on a 45 min chase on the freeways, it ended when he was going down the wrong way on an on-ramp.... he managed to get by 2 cars, but the third one enver saw him coming, they collided head on (he was going atleast 60, and she wasn't going much slower) both cars were completely totalled, it even threw off a couple of wheels.... her husband saw the whole thing on tv too, she had her baby in the car as well...
