heat issues
hi people , i've been reading these forums for the past 6 weeks or so to take in as much info into growing as i can.
well this is my problem i have a 600w hps with ballast and my cabnet i am growing in is 3ft x 2ft x 6ft.
i have set up a excust fan a fan blowing air in and have a desktop fan inside, so just for a trial run i put the 600w in there with a temp gage and the temps where around the 90 degree mark and i know this is well to high.
so my questions are.
can i buy a cooltube for my light and hope the temps will go down to a ideal temp?
can i buy a different watt bulb for my 600 watt ballast, is it possible to do this?
if the above dont work if i buy this light from ebay would it be alright for the space i'm working in? i only have 2 plants at the moment ( ajans haze #3 femelised) there 2 weeks old and looking nice i have them under 5 cfl's 23w and growing in soil biobiz mix.

thanks for the replies, i shall be investing in a new inline fan this week, anyone got any ideas of what sort of inline fan i need and a link to there site, around the £50 mark would be nice to.
i have a silver reflected hood but man in that space it was just one major hot spot so i took the hood of and it seems alot cooler in there but still not ideal.
thanks

just have another quick question really, i found a nice inline fan on ebay whats a nice price and i'm thinking of buying two of these for in and out take fans, 1 blowing at the bulb and the other taking the heat away to outside the cabnet.
would this be any good ? it says the Flow rate is 85 litres/sec , would this be ok for my size of space?
they sell reducers aswell, what are these?

Maybe I didnt catch all this but you got a 600 watter in a space 3x2x6. Think the 600 will be plenty o light for the space if you can cool it. Is the ballast outside the closet, that helps a shitload. Look I just went from a 250 watt w/ built in ballast to an air cooled 400 in a closet 5x2x8 and holy shit its cooler than the 250 with less fan. I mean its hooked up to a 150 cfm exhausting out of closet with a 100cfm fan at top o closet that pulls air out of closet thats filtered through a can filter. The temps stay in the mid 70's with the aircooled lamp
where as with the 250 not air cooled I had a hard time keeping it lower than 82 degrees. The exaust fans are roughly 80$ for smaller one and 100$ for bigger one. Even if you dont use a cool tube, which mine is not air cooled seemed to work great for me. I can keeep the light hella closer now. Oh yeah and I got a 16 inch oscillatin stand fan in there that runs on low 24/7, it's quiet as hell.
Good Luck\"I dont really condone the shit or grow the shit I find pictures and make scrogs and sogs\"

Put the fan centered on the top...put 2 passive intakes on the bottom. Its not so much moving the air as a whole but more of extracting the heat as fast as possible.
