Yeah, definitly go with the civic. In the job your in those cars are perfect. If you dont get this one, keeping looking for civics. Great gas mileage and reliable. Those cars easily get over 200,000 miles lifetime.

geonagual Reviewed by geonagual on 02-14-2007. buying a car can be frustrating ive been looking for cars for the past week and a half now.. i want to get a good reliable car of course, something that isnt to big (ive been driving a yukon for a while and its a fucking boat) every car i go look at that seems to be nice always has those certain flaws.. and the little things matter, like no AC, the hood doesnt shut right, its got damage here, the interior is fucked, etc.. so ive pretty much came down to a few last cars we think might be the ones.. were checkin them out Rating: 5

yes im paying cash.. we are looking at them today, there is no way in hell id say im buying it before i got there lol..

as for the head room, im 5'5 im a short guy so its cool.. my dad knows someone who has had 4 celicas and they love them, they had a celica go up to 400,000 miles before it broke down (thats why my dad wants to look at this one)

ya im not going to do all that lol, the most ill do is get tighter rims and do more to the engine.. its gotta be fast

I would go with the civic. I put about 10 grand into my ex girlfriends civic before we broke up. It was a pretty good and reliable car.

If a 98 Civic has already had a rebuild, and at only 98K, then chances are it had been beat on, and there may be other problems with the car. Beware, those motors are pretty bulletproof - blowing one up isnt that easy (without nitrous..) Parts will be much easier to find and cheaper than the celica though

The celica will definitely handle better than the civic, and if you can do a compression test on it, it should show whether the motor is still strong. other than that, its got 6 more years on it - does the interior and paint show that?

The engine is a 2.0 jdm b20b from a 1999 crv 40k miles on the new engine has intake headers and 2 1/4 piping to the back, no grinds on tranny, very clean interior
they say they took well care of the car and didnt race it or put stress on the car.. thats good to hear:thumbsup:

Anyone that swapped a B20B in and said they didnt race is lying to you And unless they got the whole front clip and can show you the odometer then theres no way to know the mileage.. trust me I've imported hundreds of motors/clips... Compression check is your friend

It may not pass smog, depends on where you live (I love my emissions free zip code). Parts for that motor will be expensive, and may be hard to find. it may be tough to insure...

Looks clean though, and the B20 is a nice litle upgrade to the US Non GSR motors

well as far as parts, lots of people up here have honda civics and integras and shit they are all around, and lots of my friends know where to get parts and know how to install them etc

All fine and good, but what if you get into an accident and in the investigation it shows its not a stock motor - could bite you in the ass if they decide to not cover it because of an undisclosed modification..

As far as the car itself though, the integra is a great platform, and if everything was done right, you should have no problems with it. Do you happen to know what mounts they used to install the B20B - is it a widely available kit or did they just hack a few motor mounts?
