What comes after death?

I didn't realize i was being redundant. Your thought just sparked another that I expounded on a bit. I thought it might contribute to the conversation if only in a small way.

i haven't read through the thread yet, but i thought i'd share my theory of what happens after death.

basically what i believe is that the second your life ends, everything flips over and you life your entire life again but everything is completely opposite. left is right, up is down, wrong is right, life is death, etc... I also believe that when this afterlife ends you flip back and live your life again exactly as you are now.

and besides, this is an existence where nothing matters, so why worry? you do your thing, let others do theirs..

I have been contemplating this forever and it is the most important question I have. What do you think will happen? Modern science says that humans are just material that will decompose and our minds will fade out of existence like a spark of elecricity and this life we live is as far as we go. What I'd like to believe is that when we pass away, we will return to our true essence, and merge with the collective, unseen energy that makes up our universe. What do you believe?

Science doesn't have any opinion on spiritual matters. Science doesn't say that there is no afterlife, or no souls, or no God - science simply doesn't investigate that kind of thing, it's neutral. Science is only interested in our physical, observable universe.

Anyway, I believe that we have a progression of lives - in each life, we learn certain lessons, we gain knowledge and wisdom, and then we move on. I believe there are other planes - spiritual ones, and who knows what else, that we move on to after we're done existing in this plane, and we keep gaining knowledge until we become something so abstract, so incredible, that I don't know what happens. I like to the idea of merging with some kind of energy force - maybe what we would think of as God - but I really am unsure.
