Yes, you are right, and this is one of the biggest debates among my friends. Yes, I said I got a quarter, and I told my dealer that I wanted a quarter, but he knew that what I meant was that I wanted $100 worth, which gets me a bit more than seven grams.

We use measurement terms (eighth, quad) a bit looser in the smaller amounts, and in general each term means something rather specific about the price paid. Obviously, these prices will differ place to place, but between dealer and client there is an understanding of what the terms mean.

That's my take on it, anyway.
