how do u top a plant??

I think that Topping must be done. Right now I am working on one plant that I have topped 2 times already, one of which was perfect (Still getting taller with 2 new colas growing every little bit). It's hard to explain. you can see what I'm talking about on my 420 thread. I will try to find out where I learned the "perfect" cut. . .

but ya, anyway, Top it! Even if you are not trying to clone it, in my opinion it turns out the potential of a plant (in my case it helps cause of my single female).

yes, after my first grow, I started to top.

I top every plant and make a clone. Sometimes my bonsai mom isnt ready when I am so that's how all that started, works for me.

I like the idea of taking the other top as a clone, I'll have to do that for my next grow... pretty sure the cutting I took didn't take root its been in the humidity for the past 5 days and is just starting to wilt a bit

keep light and a little water on it and it might have a chance. Did you see how small the one I got going is. I never though it would grow but it did, did you use root grower.

What I did was instead of chopping the whole growth node off and allowing the secondary branches to create the 2 top colas, I figured that by cutting it completely off, it would take at least another 1-2 weeks to catch up to its natural growing state as it were before i topped it.
So i got my fingernail cutting scissors and separated all of the newly forming leaves and branches at the growth node so that i could CLEARLY see each individual branch/leaf. Then i cut off the most newly formed growth at the top.

This allowed the plant to continue growing as quickly as it did before...It did not slow the growth down and did not cause any stress what so ever.
I did like the same thing, but I only cut half off. if you look at mine you can see what I mean.

the firt pic is after I first cut it, quality is lame but if you look close you can see how I just cornered it.

the second pic. is how the tip turned out, it is still getting longer. . .
