Buying dirt bike, anyone else have one?

I just rode my friends dirt bike this weekend, it was only a 110CC or a 125CC bike and it kicked ass. just hauling ass through the forest and on some trails. there are some really cheap bikes online, and im gonna get a small personal loan if i can and get this one or one from this site.
    PowersportsMax.com - 2005 Mustang DX 200cc Honda CRF150F Style Dirt Bike - New Arrival!

the ONLY thing i dont like about that one is the rear drum brake, id rather it be hydraulic disk brakes. but it has nice top speed and good displacement for the price.

there is nothing to do where i live in the summer besides hike or go to the creek which is a whole day trip and in the winter its snowboarding. so come springtime it will be something i can do on the weekends and stuff. there are some desert tracks around here that are awesome, might even plan a trip out into the Mojave desert or something really cool. bike out to somewhere in the middle of nowhere and camp do a race that way or something.:rasta:

Any suggestions for good cheap bikes, under $1000 including shipping? Something with good top speed, large fuel capacity, has to be four stroke

700?????????????????? that doesn't seem right somehow...

    Yamaha 2007 TT-R125L Motorcycles

my grandma promised up and down to get me that bike... she never did and it's pissed me off since... cuz i've always wanted a dirt bike since i was little bitty... it's only a 4 stroke, but there's not really many place i could go to jump higher then 10 feet.... 4 strokes are trail bikes, but they can handle going a few feet in the air... it's the 2 strokes you see jumping 20-30 feet in the air... it's also alot of power and more maintence... plus they're a shitload bigger... a 125 2 stroke is like the size of a 250 4 stroke..

man damnit why'd you have to bring that up, now i'm all fucking angry again...

but if you look at the price it's like 2,600$ so i'm really fucking confused about that 700....

You have to put it together yourself, which is gonna be a challenge, i heard people say it take 1-2 hours and ive heard people say it takes a whole day. im bettin on a day since ive never done anything like this before but i might just end up taking it to a mechanic if i run into any problems.

oh shit dude... and this is your first bike???

honestly, i'd forget the idea right now.... putting engines and shit together can be really frustrating, and really hard work... and some people have the knack to do it, and some don't... i just don't wanna see you get it then get all fuckin angry at all the money you wasted cuz you can't do it right (believe it's a precision type thing... it isn't just putting bolts on as tight as they go and shit...)

do you have anyone that can help you put it together? you say your friend's got a bike, so does he do all his maintence or does he take it to some shop? if he has rebuilt the top and bottom end himself, then he should have no problem helping you out, but if he just takes it to some shop... i don't think this will turn out too well...

btw you'd probably have to take it to a lawn mower shop to have it rebuilt, but they still charge out the ass like a regular car mechanic... although, you'd still be saving alot more money by buying the kit and even having to pay to have it put all together... new dirtbikes are 2000-3000+

do you live in or near by a larger city? for starter bikes nearly everyone (on the biking forums, i used to be a part of one) will tell you to buy a used bike first... cuz you're more than likely going to be fucking up alot of shit on it... it's best to start out with something that doesn't cost you a whole lot so when ti does go to shit, you can be like oh well didn't cost me much and move on to bigger and better ones.. just a suggestion tho... i was part of a dirtbiking forum for well over a year... and have done quite the fucking research.. cuz i thought i was getting one..

then my grandma made excuse after excuse after making promise after promise....

You can get an older dirt bike at that price that would be more than you need. I suggest you invest in the safety equipment, helmet, boots, chest protector, kidney belt, gloves, knee pads, good pants. Also try to take lessons if you can. Go to a motoX school there are many.

    hehe you guys are silly.

im not new at riding bikes, this weekend was the first time i've ridden in a few years. one of my friends had a bike when i was growing up as a kid and we rode the shit out of that baby. i swear one time i got his little 100cc kids bike up to like 70mph, the wind was insane and i was FLYING, course..we had a nice straight pipeline road with a little downhill slope.

i work on vehicles quite a bit, on my truck, on my old cars, i even have a little sentra that i wanted to convert to either pure ethanol or hydrogen or maybe an ethanol hydrogen hybrid. i was trying to get the mods to make a new forum for stuff like that, probably wouldn't be as popular as some, might even become the least popular who knows. I would post so much in it that it wouldn't be the least popular haha.

well hopefully my loan goes through, i should be able to get at least enough for a 125CC mini offroad bike,
