how much light should I use?
I am starting my 1st grow cab out of an old mini fridge. I was wondering if someone could help me figure out how much light to use in such a small space (24" x 24" x 24"). I was thinking bout going with a 100 HPS wit 2 small 4" fans for exhaust and freshair. Please help me make this work.

there really isn't enough room for a light, a plant, and a pot, in 2 feet of space. Not even a lowryder, you'll need something taller.

you really do not have much height to work with, you may be able to install several cfl and lst or tie the plant down when necassary but you really do not have enough height to use a hps lamp. while there is a few that is growing in pc cases they are not yielding enough in such a small space to be worth the trouble.
you do atleast have more room than a pc case but are very limited on height so if you do decide to use the setup for a grow would suggest just using cfl and always have your exhuast at the top as heat rises, and have the intake at the bottom.

What if he just started 12/12 sure the harvest wont be large, but he cant expect a large harvest in such a small space anyway.

what i would do is a 4 plant scrog or something like it. If you dont know what a scrog is type it in the search box and youll find a few on here. In a scrog you can pre-determine the height of the canopy. So you grow the plants upto the screen and then under the screen tying the budspots to the wire. you could easily make a scrog work in 2 feet of height and for the light id say 400w hps, dual spectrum so you can veg with it. Install a diy cooltube with a powerful fan on it and get a 100/120 cfm fan to bring air in.
Or if you dont want the fuss try low stress training which would require less work.
Good luck
