heating troubles???
well no ones posted. probably because no one has every had a problem with there grow being too cold. it's always too hot
so maybe your lucky
What temp are your seeds at?
If you only have 1 CFL your problem is probably not temp but insufficient lighting.
1 23W CFL only puts off 1600 lumens. You want at least 5100 lumens/sq foot. So really you only have enough light for like a few sq inches

heating troubles???
either a heating pad and cover them with something plastic like a milk see through milk carton or buy a small fan heater with a thermostat. all inexpensive and will do the job.

heating troubles???
I went to wal-mart and got those heating pads, like you use on your back. It's got a control much like an electric blanket. It was 9.98. I use it under my cutting trays. You could speed up the germination and cutting process with such a purchase. Hope it was of help.

heating troubles???
Hi ya Crash,
I too live in the midwest and was having issues with temps being far to cold. My space is vented from my attic which is right next to the eves. (very cold) To combat this problem I installed a small thermostat controled "space heater". It seems to have worked fabulously, as I can literally control exactly what temp my flower chamber is. In my veg chamber I had a similiar problem, which was easily fixed by adding more cfls, veg chamber is 72 degrees at floor level and 84 degrees at the top of the cab.(the tops is where clones and seedlings sit, the bottom is my moms)
Good luck getting it sorted out. I would definatley listen to Fog (you should see his grows  ) and put some more cfls in there. More light is almost always better.
Keep em green man. :weedpoke:

Keep the soil warmer than the plant in winter, and the plant can survive lower temps with less stress.
Reputable garden centers are all selling propagation mats at this time of year in preparation for spring seed-starting.
They are SAFE to use in dampish areas, as the element is sealed in vinyl.
They typically cost $26 USD and are ~11x15 inches or so.
