Well a natural breath is roughly 3 seconds, and by that time you've abosrbed all the THC and other active cannabinoids... after that it's not weed smoke in your lungs... just smoke... and that's never good to have in your lungs for longer than you need to.

IMO holding hits DOES determine how high you get off the smoke. I used to hold my hits for like 3-5 seconds but now I hold it for like 5-15 seconds and it makes a big difference, trust me.

do you guys have any proof that thc is absorbed insantly?not trying to be a dick, im just wondering why you guys always tell ppl that? and yeah its just common sence the longer u hold in a hit the more tar will be deposited in ur lungs , i guess thats why whan you hold i your hit for a long asstime no smoke comes out

I hate to say it buddy, but oxygen depravation. It's lightheadedness, possibly coupled with placebo. As you inhale the smoke you hardly get any oxygen that breath, and holding... well your not getting oxygen all that time. That's going to kill brain cells, and i think that may be whats causing some of your chest problems, and im not just saying it man.

There plenty of stuff on the net about how THC is abosrbed instantly, i've read quite a few, mainly in threads in the medicinal forum. I have no links. Before this site changed ownership there used to be a "daily factoids" and the THC being abosrbed instanly fact was in the rotation.
