What drug companies don't want you to know!!! Read this if you take anti-depressants.

The human body is not a set pool of chemicals, it is a working, evolving, living symbiosis.

Now when a foreign chemical is introduced into the body it will eventually give rise to its (ant)agonist. This is also what seems to cause withdraw symptoms.

If you smoke alota dope for weeks then you build up a tolerance because of this. If you suddenly quit putting that THC in there you will experience withdraw symptoms (shut your face it does have withdraw if you smoke enough then stop suddenly) for example when i stop i notice im more nauseous, because THC suppresses it, I also notice I have a decreased appetite and food doesn't taste as amazing as it does normally or when high.

This means that when things like prescription drugs that are psychoactive like anti depressants are taken they actually make the problem worse.

Does anyone see what im trying to say? It means exponential dependence on anti-depressants and in the long run it makes things worse.

    Thoughts?:hippy: :hippy:

i hope i don't get flamed because this can all be scientifically proven.

just don't ask me to do it. but i does show how current clinical tests are irrelevant. and even if a short term benefit is accomplished what will the long term results me? the only thing they test for is immediate negative side affects, and the intended short term benefit.

When I first started taking antidepressants, I was pretty ill with suicidal ideation, and the Prozac really helped me. I would never suggest that meds are unnecessary for some people, because they absolutely were for me. But I decided after nearly 15 years on antidepressants, I would stop taking them. My physical self and my circumstances have changed a great deal since starting the meds. I had already tapered down to a low dosage of both Prozac and Welbutrin, and I first quit the Prozac and then the Welbutrin a week later. It's been around three weeks and I do have a bad cold so that might be part of a kind of withdrawal. I feel okay emotionally though. I definately find that weed helps me
I have a bit of a distrust of pharmaceuticals, I admit. I don't think all the possible contraindications are always thoroughly tested. So I am growing my own medicine now:hippy:

Interesting...I've noticed that if I stop taking a med abruptley my situation increases 10x, but I guess that is something that would obviously happen.

That's why when going off of most anti-depressants, you need to do so SLOWLY. Just quitting is GUARANTEED to make you feel much worse. But taking the time to do it the correct way will help.

I agree completely. I hate prescription drugs because it fucks you up way more than it helps you.

My one friend takes stuff for like add and depression and hes like, progressively getting slower. Like, he repeats stuff that people just said and crap, like tell a story twice in a row. and he always tells me stuff that hes told me multiple times and I have to remind him he told me something yesterday and the day before that. hes got mad hand tremors too. I think its doing more damage than help to be honest.

I used to take ritalin too, and that made me look like a tweaker, I hate that shit.

I heard that on a Without A Trace I think it was. The guy was taking anti-depressants then quit and became even more depressed than he was to start with. But when they came out and said anti-depressants may cause you to commit suicide putting it on the "black list", thats when I saw the joke in the pharmeceutical department.

marijuana is a better antidepressant IMHO, in terms of effectively, but in terms of availability/potency/cost, sadly, pharms. are more cost efficient.

but if it's health you are concerned about, i think pot is a best bet... but as an antidepressant, it cannot be smoked a lot, like maybe only once per day or something, small amounts.
