because it directly effects us in just about every way....idk if thats a good enough reason tho, i mean if there isn't a new motorazr cell phone designed by tommy hillfiger waiting for us at the end of trip then why bother.

i feel like the biggest hypocrite the world has seen, i drive an 8 cylinder 1/2 ton truck even when im alone, i go out riding dirt bikes and spend most of my time relaxing and playing video games or watching that '70s show.

but for some reason im the only one i know with a conscience that worries about the things i do.
i wish i didn't have to drive a gas guzzling truck, i wish i could help out homeless people instead of making myself a fantastic home cooked meal. but i dont. mostly because i don't know how.

I would love to be a pioneer, leading people into a brighter, more reliable, less harmful future. but i dont fucking know how!!!!!!!!!!

I've watched TV many times just thinking in the back of my head how retarded some of the things I'm hearing/seeing/witnessing are, and at the same time I know that most likely 100% of people I know personally are sitting watching the same thing as me and blindly swallowing the network's feed

Honestly I have nothing really original to contribute to this thread aside from support for what you're saying. I am barely any kind of leader and I do not know of any avenue to start down in order for the end of the road to lead to a better tomorrow. I could fast, spend no money, and live on the streets. In the end I would die in a foolish way with no message received to those around me. I use many resources daily, many more than 1 human being should be credited to per day. Yet I don't stop. I AM all talk. Openly admitted, I am a lost kid that knows there is something incredibly wrong yet I do nothing to better this situation. How can I? I can just worry about the space directly around me and make sure everything runs smoothly within that space. What is the most frustrating thing for me (aside from having depression) is that I live within this isolated world of plastic and dreams to make more green papers than your fellow man, and yet I know I will never leave this place. I will remain in this superficial world with a nagging in the back of my mind that what I am participating in is wrong and is bringing about a destruction to mankind. All I have done up until now is remind myself not to get sucked in.

A personal dillema for me right now is that I think my depression has allowed my thought processes to pick up what is going on around me, but once I cure my depression will I fall back into a stupor of greed and no substance? I'd like to think that I won't, I mean I won't forget that which I know now, but I am still a little afraid it might not mean all that much to me once I have my well being back and I am free to actually begin living my life free of this battle going on within my head.

It's like im talking to myself. That was weird. I wish more people like you would come post here, you seem to be able to say alot of the stuff in a clearer way than i can. i just have so many frustrations about this subject and they are all rolling around in my head just about 24/7 so its hard to get a single idea down without it merging into some blurry abstract idea i have.

all i know is i want peace, and i want everyone to be equal

Of course an individual alone cannot change how the world works.

The world is driven by money and selfishness, our leaders cannot look 300 years ahead of them while making important decisions, and that is too bad.

Yet, it is with a penny that we make a dollar.

Oh, and by the way, you joined this forum on my blessed day.

I don't really have much to add. But I agree with the thread started and nochowder. There are plenty of people who notice this, they just see no way to change it, and would lose more than they would gain if they tried to change anything considering they would probally fail. Power is not well distributed in the world.

funny, you can google things that apply to the real world too. i agreed with you until you said you did not know how to help. Anyone with an Internet connection can find out where and how to help the homeless in their area. (along with many other proactive activities.)

Count me in. I have been trying to think of ways to make this world a better place for as long as I became conscious of my own mind.

I agree that the Internet could be a powerful source for this kind of project. There seems to be plenty of Peace and Unity associations online, and I am sure they get quite a bit of members, but is it enough?

    Brain storming we shall.
