I would just toke some with them instead of goving them some.

The thing with just giving people some for their first time is they might not smoke it right, and say it wasn't even weed or whatever. Yes, first time smokers don't always know how to inhale, instead, they fill their mouth with smoke and blow it all away. I've seen people do it and call their weed bunk.

Another reason is if it's their first time, some people get crazy paranoid or go a little nuts, and again, they might say you laced with something.

So I'd just smoke them up for their first time so they know what it's about. That way, you can see if they smoke it right, and you won't get hated on for saying it's bunk, or laced weed.

Plus it's always fun getting first timers stoned out of their mind.
