If there are enough people backing it, reform can and will happen.. but first this type of information needs to be more widespread and accepted. Education is the key.

I dont know if these trials are still running but i remember reading about kids with ADHD/ADD in Jamaica being given a weed muffin for breakfast to try and calm them down during the school day,apparently they were getting good results with the kids behaviour,and no detrimental affects on schoolwork!
i've got 4 kids and if it was a choice of prescribed chemicals or a space cake before school the spacecake would win every time!!

Although I would never suggest using Marijuana for ADD in kids, just like kids in school should not be on ritalin, but I have noticed some benefits of Marijuana on me with ADD.

Low THC content Sativa tend to work really good in keeping me focused on really boring tasks.

I would not suggest going out and getting the strongest strain of Haze and smoking yourself retarded and pretending you are curing something, because in that case you would not. Just admit it, you smoke it in that case to get high, and damn it you should be able too.

In control doses I hypothesize that Cannabis could be more beneficial than Ritalin. The only problem with Self Medicating with Marijuana is that you are limited to what strains your dealer can get you. Often your dealers are not the most law abiding citizen (which is the main reason I am for legalization) and will rip you off or lie about what strain you are getting. It is hard to get certified organic, and after all that, you yourself have to set the dosage and if you are like me, you will just smoke as much as you can afford.

I am not a doctor, but I can say that a mild Sativa will help you to focus on boring tasks. Indicas tended to have me just sit there and get nothing done, not even things I found exciting when sober.

The Weed that allowed me to focus the best was Mexican Brick Weed. It tended to be sativa, it was never too strong, and cheap as hell. Most of it was grown in soil, and did not have the Over Fertilized taste that so called High grade did. Not to say I prefer the brick weed, If I could get Organic Sativas Sinsemilla everytime I went looking for "nuggets" I would be in heaven. If this was all legal, I could go to the store and get the brand I wanted all along, or better yet, GROW MY OWN!
