grab 'em by their little throats and squeeze ! - not sure if they're whiteflies or not, without pics - regardless, make up a soapy water solution (coupla drops of dish detergent or soap), and spray it all over the plant, both sides of the leaves, its a good remedy for lots of pests, doesn't hurt the plant

Whiteflies look lilke tiny white moths.
You likely have thrips. They breed in the soil. They are black as adults.
Neem, soap, you have a number of options.
    Pyrethrins also work wonders.

If they are brownish-black they're most likely fungus gnats. These need a wet enviroment to live and their tiny maggots can be seen crawling around the soil surface. If you have this it's an easy fix...quit watering so much. A thin layer of sandy soil over the surface will help too, as long as the surface is not kept constantly wet. Gnats need a wet environment to survive so if they're not coming from the pot pots then there must be another source nearby.

If they are thrips you may be able to spot tiny blonde larvae crawling on the lower leaves of your plant, and see the little pale munch-trails they leave. They are ridiculously common in soil grows.

here is a thread i started about thrips. http://boards.cannabis.com/indoor-gr...ification.html click on the picture, and if you have damage like that on your leaves- it's thrips. i hope for your sake it's not, im still battling the little buggers. they don't get away with too much damage these days, but they're still a pain in the ass.
