But NO! Don't do that stuff. It's very damaging and turns you into a nut.

The funnel doesn't have to be that big to start off with. If you have problems chugging down a bottle of beer, the beer bong will be a hard task to concur at first, or if you have never used one, it will be like, "whoa!" at first.

As long as you can fit a can/bottle/pint of beer into the funnel without overflow, you should be good. If it only fits one at a time, and you want 2 or 3, just have a buddy pour more in while you're drinking.

Beer bongs are fun, but they're the funnest when you find a tough talking drinker who's never used one, tries it, and ends up wasting half the beer because they can't chig it down. It sprays all over the place and gets all over you. Very embarrasing in front of girls.
