It's not illegal, the kid let the cop search is car. That was a stupid choice.

It's really fucking bullshit that you're even considering snitching on your dealer. that could get him in a lot of shit. You sound kind of young so I'm going to break this down for you:

Cops like to play little head fuck games with kids, meaning they will tell you this and that to scare you. Like someone said before, if he was going to do anything to you he would have done it on the spot. He had no right to stop you, and he knew that, thats why you didn't get arrested. He told you to tell him where you got the pot from and you would get off. That is called plea barganing, and he was in no position to do that. I was not there but from the sound of your story he was obviously trying to scare you and it worked, wonderfully. Long story short the cop was bullshitting you. Don't sweat it. no, he can search the car without asking. i got arrested in september and they didn't ask to search the car, if they got proboble cause they can go right ahead. i even asked my lawyer if it was an illegal search since they never told us why they were searching the car and that we didn't give any permission. he said it doesn't matter. proboble cause...........is fucking gay

uh, being arrested gives him the right to search you and your belongings. the person who made thsi thread wasn't arrested, he was pulled over. And being pulled over is does not give the right for a search.

Sup. I just got stopped by police and found my weed about 45 minutes ago(im at home now). Just me and my friend. He was going to try weed with me for the first time in his life. We havent smoked ANYTHING YET. So we were driving, and as a police car went by us, me and him made eye contact for about 3 seconds. He stopped us and proceeded to ask us if we have any drugs in our car, we lied and said no, then he searched and found about a gram and a half. We talked and talked, then said if i dont wanna be charged, i gotta tell him the address of the guy i buy from. I dont wanna be a snitch, cuz not only is he my dealer, but we are good friends. Cop told me i got one week to tell him my dealer's address or he will call my parents. If i decide not to tell him, after a week can i still be charged for possesion of marijuana? He told me if i do get charged, i'll be going to juvie. Anyone can tell me what juvie is like? What you guys think i should do??

Ok, first of all, that cop violated your rights. You could have told him not to search your car, because he had no probable cause to search your vehicle. I think you will still be charged with possession, but that's because you didn't stick up for your rights.

All I would have done was simply asked why I was being pulled over, then asked on what grounds was he searching my car, then VERY politely stated that his reason was not enough for me, and that I am very anal about people going through my personal things/car/whatever.

They can't do SHIT.
