Howdy to all those that decide to check out my first hypothetical attempt at setting up a grow space. :yippee:
Just wanted to post a few pix and get some feedback, basically want to make sure i havent forgotten anything.:jointsmile:
The space i'm working with is 2' 11" x 2' 8" x 8' high spilit at 35" to make 2 rooms. The bottom being my Mom and clone chamber and the top cab for flower. With the light at its heighest point I think i have about 4 clear feet of vertical space. :jointsmile: (so no huge sativas for me ) Lights in the lower cab: 20w 2' fluorescents, 1 on the top self and 1 under the first shelf to give me 2 shelves to work from. Moms are sitting under a homemade light fixture that encloses six 27w 6500k daylight Cfl's with a spare reflector that came with my hps. :clap: When putting together this light I had a thought, :420thought: which resulted in my Cfl light fixture. I figured that the sides of the cfl's is where the most efficient light is, so they are all mounted horizontal with a reflector over them. It seems to be working fabulously. :yippee:
Ventalation for the bottom is a cheapy 4 inch inline "booster" fan, with a cpu fan mounted to a 2" intake, ducted from the ceiling. Temps in the bottom top out at 81 degrees up by the top shelf and 70 degrees at the floor level. :bonghit:
Onto the flower chamber, again, 2' 11" x 2' 8" x 5" high. (same dimensions, its a closet). Lighting is a 400w Hps from HTG Supply in a cool tube light fixture, vented with a 6" inline "booster" fan. I at first thought this wouldnt be nearly strong enough to exhuast the heat from the hps bulb but i was wrong. It seems to be plenty, (it is winter though) I can put the back of my hand against the glass and leave it there with NO discomfort.
Top chamber has a 140 Cfm bathroom "fart fan" and a 4" passive intake. I grossly overestimated how much fan i needed. With light and exhaust on it actually creates a suction when you open the doors. :upsidedow
If I encounter heat issues in the summer i'll take the exhaust from the fart fan and duct it into the light ducting thereby creating a "boosted" system. (I hope that makes sense) I'm curently battling low temps since its only 2 degrees F outside, so for now there is a small under desk space heater in with my girls.
Ok, well that's all I can think of at the moment. I'm looking forward to joining the ranks of self sufficent tokers. Any and all feedback is much appreciated. :weedpoke:
