Skiers/Snowboarders Unite!
New England skiing sounds really nice. Can't get any better than that, perhaps with minimal people around. Ahhhh. Sounds like my kind of skiing. How close is it to Killington? New England is a region I have to tackle, perhaps next year.

The whole town must've stopped by to either offer help or just to stare and laugh, including one notable hick family in a old broken-down station wagon asking if we needed to use their celluar phone, and one teenager debating whether he should stay with us until the tow truck comes. Even the cops paid us a visit. What a way to start out a ski trip. Gotta love the people in WV.
The first place I went to was Timberline. Narrow trails that were groomed, but all trails merged into a slow ski area and there were a lot of people. It's like playing pinball to avoid them all. I made my only fall of the trip to avoid some guy who hogged the hill, and through that, my binding popped. It wasn't fun skiing where I couldn't let go.
The next day I went to Caanan Valley, I almost didn't ski because of the disappointment of Timberline. But I'm glad I did, this place reminded me of why I love skiing. There was a mixture of wide, groomed trails, narrow forest scenic trails and nice off-course powder skiing. Not to mention the amazing view of the valley. Most of all, it wasn't crowded, the lines were short, and at most one or two others in the black diamonds! They had a terrain park with rails, jumps of all kinds, even going off a car. That was really beast. It was reminesent of the type of skiing in the Alps, albeit smaller, but to even find a place this good 3 hours away from my house in the mid-atlantic is quite a coup. I didn't want to go home
I was having too good of a time, but I guess all good things have to come to an end.
