    Skiers/Snowboarders Unite!

Wow, that puts me off from going to Killington at all. I figured there was no snow-making there. But that's absurd to do it during the day. It must be that crowded or they're just inconsiderate. I don't enjoy skiing with unnatural snow being blown in your face, I agree with you there. My whole perception of Killington has changed.

I am all about the planks. But I like the little stubby ones for backcountry skiing. I have 3 pairs of skis... my short, wide 'rock skis' that I took with me to Alaska along with a pair of snowshoes, some longer, less shaped Fischers that I bring when I know the trails are going to be well-groomed, and an inbetween pair of MadTrix for pretty much the rest of the time.
Yeah killington is MAD touristy and the thing that makes me maddest is that to keep up with keeping snow onthe trails, they make snow DURING THE DAY on open trails! It's like a 20 degree car wash.
    No thanx.
Okemo is much more considerate IMO. They avoid blowing snow during the day, and never on open trails.
I can't believe you don't like snowboarding! Well it is a pretty rough sport, its best to go when there is tons of fresh powder on the bunny hill, and snowing too so theres constant powder buildup, then when you inevitably fall on your ass it will be like a marshmallow instead of packed ice.

Once when i was snowboarding in new zealand we had reservations for this really popular resort and it snowed the night before we were scheduled to go.
you'd think that would be great but the fuckers actually had to CLOSE because they "received too much snow" and couldn't open.......TOO MUCH SNOW??? as long as the fucking chairlift is still visible there is not TOO much snow.

so we ended up being diverted to another crappier resort, along with 50,000 other assholes. and they had the snow makers on and pointed directly into the run. so it was people packed shoulder to shoulder going down the run with a jet of fresh frozen shaved ice being blown into your face.

the resort probably made bank but it sucked ass for everyone. the lines were insane and the runs were PACKED. i have a picture somewhere of people as far as the eye can see waiting in line for a double wide chairlift.

I got a pass to the canyons, park city. I like the place because you can go to the far end of the resort where few people go. Maybe even smoke a bowl if its not to crowded

The Canyons were awesome. That was my favorite in Utah, other than Alta, which was a skier's dream. Park City, eh.....

ive been skiing/snowboarding since i was 4 years old....I'm mostly a boarder now but skiing is still fun now and then. every year i get a season pass to sierra and northstar (northern cali). Nothin better than getting blazed off your ass on the charlift up and then smashing down the hill as fast as you canimp:

lol, I been there too. Northern Cali skiing is awesome, my cousin use to work as a snowboard instructor at Boreal. Northstar, Squaw Valley, Heavenly (well it's in NV, but same area). I bought a QP when I was over there, and I carried it everywhere, everytime I passed someone, they were like "man I smell some dank." It was awesome. Good skiing.

Snowboarding for the win. I hurt my shoulder a little last year, so I'm on a bit of a break til I get back into the swing. I'm a little like SwirlyMass up there, I push the envelope a little too hard for my own good.

Love blazing up almost every time I go on the lift, though. As long as I'm not stuck with an odd-looking stranger, or have any kids right behind me, I'm blazin' up. Only thing I can do to pass the time while I wait for the kiddies to stop jamming up the lift everytime they fall at the bottom. I've had the "pleasure" of having to teach someone almost everytime I've been recently, which doesn't leave much room for personal boarding, but hopefully one day, I'll have a posse to roll around with.

Stinky, I hear ya about those snow-makers, they're horrible. They get my joint wet, too. LOL, j/k. Maybe next time I make a trip, I'll check out Wildcat. Never heard of it. Sounds nice. Redlined420, right?

I have thought about snowboarding so many times but I hate to think of spending one day on my ass. So i just ski...skiing in southern california is a little different, shorter runs, warmer weather and a ton of snow making. still fun.

I have only skiied in New England once and guess where that was?........Killington...took a bus up from Boston. they even had movies..what was that movie? I went in January and it was cold and there was a lot of snow making going on. There was snow shooting everywhere.
