i wish i could shut my mind off sometimes

i have this irritating habit...when i'm watching something on tv or a movie...i'll see a sorta familiar face, and then go hunt on imdb.com to prove to myself that i'm right...sometimes i'll think and think about it...and it'll keep me up at night and all of a sudden i'll pop up outta bed and hunt it down online....

anyone else have this personality quirk? and if so...does it drive you crazy?

how the hell do you "turn it off"?

btw i've been awake over 24 hrs and i'm kinda loopy...tired+too much caffeine=:S2:

Hell yeah. I look up shit all the time like that. I hate not knowing. If I ever have a question that I know I can solve with a quick search on wiki, I will always make a mental note to look it up when I have the chance.

its one thing to do it just as a "hobby" i guess you'd call it....

but i have obsessive compulsive tendencies that drive me up the wall...counting stuff...checking stuff...picking my nails till my fingertips bleed...its crazy...and every night i have this "ritual" where i check what time both my alarm clocks are set.....


i know its crazy even as i'm doing it...but i can't stop it....
