??? so what you're telling me is that a global organization weaker than the UN, which is already unable to handle relatively small regional conflicts (bosnia, sudan, etc etc), would have been able to stop WWII

your claim is completely baseless please return to 10th grade history
in response to this, your totally missing the point. My point was that IF the US HAD been in the league, it might have had the power needed to stop Hitler. And i dont mean defeat Hitler during WWII, i mean itmightve had the power to effectively apply economic or military sanctions to prevent Germany rearming and breaking the rules of the Treaty or Versailles.

And i agree, without the USA, the league was almost totally useless in dealing with even the smallest conflicts.

and i apologise if my wording may have confused you...i should have said "if the Senate had ratified joining the league of nations..."

and dude...learn to spell before you start calling other people "retard"

??? i completely understood what u said U RETARD... ur claim is still moronic and guess what u are clearly not understanding what I said note the part about the UN (if you havent noticed we are in the UN and it still cant stop anything from happening)
ECONOMIC SANCTIONS WOULD NOT HAVE WORKED GO BACK TO SCHOOL
    1. germany was making many illegal underhanded agreements with other countries which would not have been affected by this ban (IE USSR)
    2. germany's economic growth was almost entirely due to internal reform and a move to build up its own infrustructure

and dude learn history before you decide to argue about it

Well after kicking some Brit ass in 1776 and 1812 then being of the forgiving nature decided to help ya all out in WW1. I would imagine that we held off a bit and saw if the lil' dog could do it on their own but Pearl Harbor was the key that told us that the big dog was NEEDED again. So once again, Uncle Sam to the rescue.

    By the way, your welcome!

^But that battle was after the war had ended, sorta pointless.

yeah nice comparison....you may be in the UN, but the US only contributes 350 peacekeepers, out of a total 95 000, meaning that they have about as much involvement in the UN as in the League. And regardless of Germanies dealing with other nations, if America had been part of the league then this fact alone would have been enough to make Hitler think twice about expanding into europe, considering the industrial and military power of the US.

and dude, please calm down. Im thinking maybe we could have a rational debate instead of just shouting "UR A RTARD LOOL"
